Fasting and Yoga
Under nature cure, you should not downplay the benefits brought about by fasting.
In fact, more and more people now understand the value of fasting in terms of curing the common cold,
nervous spells, headaches and other acute health related illnesses. By missing a meal or two,
the human body is relieved of overload and of a food poisoned system. Actually,
you should remember that the body can only require so much food and overeating usually
causes some, if not all, of the health related illnesses experienced by the human body.
Ever heard of a sick person complaining that he or she has “lost” his appetite? This is actually a good sign,
believe it or not. Loss of appetite is an indication that the human system is overcharged or overloaded
with waste materials or toxins and nature is actually trying to correct or cure it by letting the toxins
“escape” from the system. After all, the accumulated waste in the organs should really be eradicated so
as to not produce or cause health illnesses.
Fasting is a great remedy under the nature cure philosophy. If the health disorder is created by an
abnormal toxin accumulation, then fasting can help address this problem. The membranous
linings of the stomach as well as of the intestine which act as “sponges” are now “squeezed”
in order for these waste matters to get thrown out or expelled from the system.
Exercises while fasting? While this can be done, you should bear in mind that the
physical and mental energy levels should not reach that stage where you already feel
too exhausted. You can still do the usual routines you already have, just not let
yourself get too carried away and reach that point of extreme exhaustion.
