On Meditation
Meditation means a lot of things for various people. For some, meditation means awareness.
When one is aware, then there’s meditation. As long as the mind is kept free of any other
distraction, then that is meditation.
On the other hand, meditation can mean “to join together or to yoke.” It is a state of consciousness for
some people, when the mind is free of patterns and thoughts.
To be technical about it, meditation, the word, is derived from two Latin terms:
Meditari (to think, to exercise the mind and to dwell upon) and mederi (to heal).
Meanwhile, the Sanskrit derivation “medha” could mean wisdom.
In the days of old, meditation was deemed as something just not meant for the “modern” people.
These days, however, meditation has become very popular that a lot of people have
expressed their beliefs on them, their many testimonials that could attest the benefits of meditation.
Basically, meditation is an enrichment to one’s soul.
